Odată cu cresterea recunoasterii publice a amenintărilor din partea bolilor induse de bacterii si potentiala lor izbucnire în rândul comunitătilor dens populate un dispozitiv biosenzor portabil intrinsec ieftin bazat pe utilizarea LPGFS, care poate efectua identificarea rapidă si precisă a infectiei cu E. Coli este foarte solicitat pentru a răspunde unor astfel de situatii dificile si pentru a controla daunele pe care aceste boli le-ar putea provoca. Putem afirma că utilizarea dispozitivului va permite să se mărească considerabil nivelul de bunăstare sanitară si epidemiologică a populatiei si să se prevină astfel de incidente în viitor. Deoarece sunt mai robuste, mai ieftine, mai simple si permit proiectarea adecvată a dispozitivelor portabile comparativ cu senzorii SPR, LPGFS nu sunt dedicati aproape exclusiv utilizării în laborator.
